Self-publishing is the right choice for those who want total control over their book business (including 100% royalties), and for those publishing something as part of an already established business. Learning how to self-publish is time consuming and a lot to get your head around. If doing it all yourself seems too daunting, then we can help you publish that book. We can either guide you to publish under your own name or we can do it all for you.
Our Escarpment Publishing service is also for those who want to work with our team but their book isn’t fiction or a narrative memoir or biography – for example, children’s books, family and local histories, picture books and non-narrative memoirs. If you’ve written your memoir and you want to have it published for your family, Escarpment Publishing is right for you.
Though Escarpment Publishing is an Australian self-publishing service, we publish books for authors all around the world. However, we particularly welcome submissions from authors residing in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands areas of NSW, Australia. (The name comes from the Illawarra escarpment – the photo of it above is taken from the Newland property.)
Books will be required to meet basic standards of proficiency and must have socially responsible content. We will advise on what editing is needed, but how much of it you do is up to the author. However, the book must be, at the very least, professionally copy edited.
