Publishing options today are many, with different kinds of book publishers and publishing services being offered. If you’re planning to self-publish and you want to do it well, you’ll need professional publishing services. You also need to research well to make sure that you’re not getting scammed. We recommend joining the Alliance of Independent Authors to get reliable publishing information, advice and service providers. Their partner members are vetted for integrity. We are a partner member ourselves.

Alkira Publishing is not only a book publisher but also a service provider for those wanting to self-publish. Our caring team will meet all your needs.

Publishing Services

Editing

Our editing services include manuscript appraisals to identify where your book could improve, line and copy editing, and proofreading. We work to both UK and US conventions (Chicago Manual of Style).

Book Cover Design & Formatting

A one-stop service for all your self-publishing file needs. Get covers for both ebook and paperback and the interior files for both from the same provider. Rose, our book designer will create ebook and paperback covers and interiors specifically for your book.

Learning to produce files that meet printer and ebook publishers’ requirements takes a huge amount of time, and the process of getting them right can cause major headaches for self-publishers. Avoid the frustration by having a professional do them for you.

Self-Publishing Service

Self-publishing is the right choice for those who want total control over their book business, and for those publishing something as part of an already established business. Learning how to self-publish is time consuming and a lot to get your head around. If doing it all yourself seems too daunting, then we can help you publish that book through our Escarpment Publishing self-publishing service imprint. We can either guide you to self-publish yourself or we can do it all for you. In both instances, you will receive 100% royalties.

Our Escarpment Publishing imprint is also for those who want to work with our team but their book isn’t right for Alkira Publishing – for example, children’s books, family and local histories, picture books and non-narrative memoirs.
