Gaylene B Corben lives on the beautiful South Coast of New South Wales with her husband, Rob, and their Labrador Retriever, Maxie. She writes contemporary Australian crime fiction featuring Detectives Joseph Paterson and Tessa Mariani.
Before becoming a novelist, Gaylene taught high school science, then transitioned into the financial services industry, where she wrote policy documents and training guides. She holds a Science degree, a postgraduate Compliance degree, a Diploma of Education, and has completed writing courses through the Australian Writers’ Centre.
Gaylene inherited her love of photography from her parents, and the South Coast’s spectacular scenery, native wildlife, and ever-changing landscapes provide endless inspiration. Her passion for photography is reflected in her novels through police photographer Olivia Chatfield.
In their spare time, Gaylene and Rob enjoy walks along the river with Maxie, boating, and travel.
